In Tunnard’s compositions … the final effect is that of a dream-landscape, but ‘land’ must imply more than earth, and more than land and sea. The ‘scape’ is the limits of imaginative vision.

John Tunnard: Dream Landscapes is a stunning new exhibition aiming to galvanise interest in one of Britain’s most inventive twentieth-century artists, the Cornish painter John Tunnard (1900-1971). The exhibition, comprised of twenty-two works, will be held at Agnew’s Gallery, London, from 7 September to 7 October 2011.
